Daniel M. Genet 

Florida Supreme Court Certified  Circuit Civil and Family Law Mediator

Daniel Genet was born and raised in New York.  He attended college at Western State College of Colorado and graduated with honors in 1992 with a degree in Business Administration and Accounting.  Mr. Genet returned to New York to attend law school at Pace University School of Law and graduated in 1996 in the top 1/3 of his class.  While there, he was on the Dean’s list and awarded an American Jurisprudence Award in Criminal Law Analysis and Writing I and II and Civil Procedure I.  Mr. Genet was also a member of Pace Law Review from 1994 to 1996 and had his law review paper published in 1995.

Mr. Genet sat for the New York and Colorado bar examinations at the same time and passed both.  He is admitted to practice law in the State of Colorado, U.S. District Court of Colorado and the State of New York.

In early 1997, he began his legal career with a Denver law firm where he worked as a litigation associate for approximately 3 years and as a partner for 2 years.  Mr. Genet was also co-founder of his own firm, Genet & Martinez, PC, for approximately 9 years where he litigated cases involving all matters of family law including large and small estates, alimony (also known as maintenance or spousal support), property distribution, retirement assets and Qualified Domestic Relations Orders, restraining orders, child support, and custody disputes involving allegations of physical, emotional and/or sexual abuse, pre-nuptial agreements, marital agreements and co-habitation agreements, breach of contract cases, mechanic’s lien case’s, construction defect cases, personal injury cases (including automobile accidents and other types of injury cases), insurance bad faith, excessive force cases against police departments and criminal cases.

Mr. Genet has participated in a countless number of mediations in state and federal court for family law cases, civil cases and personal injury cases.  Mr. Genet is a Florida Supreme Court Certified Circuit Civil and Family Law Mediator and also stays current with mediation training and continuing education and has participated in collaborative divorce training.  Mr. Genet is now mediating full time in the Tampa Bay area with two mediation locations or at a location of your choosing.  He is the founder and president of Tampa Mediation, Inc and is a Tampa Bay area mediator.  He is a member of the Hillsborough County Bar Association, Pasco County Bar Association, Florida Academy of Professional Mediators, Wesley Chapel Chamber of Commerce, Colorado Bar Association, Family Law Section and the New York State Bar Association.
